Dance groups are held during semester one, an hour before school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings (one group per day) in the school hall. Each week, students learn new skills, practise their dance routine and build on it in preparation for the North Sydney Dance Festival that takes place at the end of the term 2.
There are three dance groups - an infants dance group (for students in years 1 and 2), a primary dance group (for students in years 3 and 4) and a senior dance group (for students in years 5 and 6).
Students from years 1 to 6 are invited to audition for the dance groups at the beginning of term 1. There is always an overwhelming number of participants at the dance auditions.
From there, approximately 24 students are selected for each group based on their performance, involvement and enthusiasm on the day of the audition.
Students perform at the Sydney North Dance Festival at the end of term 2 at the Glen St Theatre in Belrose.
