The school band program offers a wonderful opportunity for primary aged students to enjoy playing music with their friends and classmates as part of a group.
One of the benefits of being part of the band is the development of team work and a real sense of pride as they perform together.
There are three bands: training band (typically year 3), intermediate band (year 4) and senior band (years 5 and 6). Each band rehearses one morning and one lunchtime per week. Children also need to have private tuition on a weekly basis.
There are lots of other opportunities for our bands to perform throughout the year both in school and in the community. One of the highlights on the band calendar is the annual overnight band camp. This is held in term two.
Our band program is run by a dedicated parent committee under the guidance of the band director in partnership with the school.
You will find more information about the school band on the Manly Village Public School Band Page on the P&C website.
